Day 1 – Welcome Ceremony and Orientation
You are met at the airport by Riali Consult staff and transferred to your hotel. Welcome dinner and orientation.
Day 2 – Full Day Accra City Tour
Drive through many municipalities in Accra passing by Government departs, Independence Arch and Ceremonial grounds. Visit the National Museum which was opened on the eve of 5th March 1957 by the Duchess of Kent, on display are Archaeological and Historical materials as well as relics of our Ancient civilization which are in the form of arts, craft and royal regalia. You also visit Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum the final resting place for a great Pan – Africanist and the first President of Ghana.
The final part of the visit takes you to the Art and Craft Bazaar, a souvenir market where a large collection of art, crafts, textiles and other artifacts are displayed and sold. It is the largest handicraft market in the city where you can use your bargaining prowess. Break for lunch.
After lunch drive to the Artist Alliance Gallery to see and buy artifacts. Meet the artist of the gallery, one of the famous in Africa. Stopover at a traditional coffin shop to view a collection of traditional coffins which are in shapes related to people’s profession before their death. Your final stop is the Art and Craft Bazaar to for shopping.
Dinner and overnight – Hotel.
Day 3 – Aburi Botanical Gardens
After breakfast, drive on the winding route up the scenic Akuapem mountain range to Mampong to visit Tetteh Quarshie’s cocoa farm(the first cocoa in Ghana) and Awukugwa the birth place of the famous Okomfo Anokye to see some of the legacies he left behind.
Have lunch at the Aburi Botanical Garden restaurant.
Relax or stroll under huge tropical trees some over hundred years and see the Monkey Pot tree. Stopover at local craft market. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight – Hotel.
Day 4 – Forts and Castles
Have early breakfast. Depart Accra driving through many fishing villages and towns to Elmina. Arrive at Elmina and visit Elmina Castle designated as world heritage monuments and experience a chilling tour walking through the dungeons. Break for lunch.
After lunch visit the Cape Coast Castle and the West African Historical Museum, the dungeons, condemned cells, auction halls and the gate of no return.
Take part in a traditional drumming dancing session in honour of group.
Dinner and overnight – Hotel.
Day 5 – Kakum National Park – Kumasi
Check out drive to Kakum Nature Park. Go on an adventurous trail, a comprehensive guided tour through one of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest. Experience the exciting canopy walkway suspended on tropical trees, the first of it kind in Africa, and have a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the rainforest. Lunch at Hans Cottage Botel restaurant and view crocodiles as you dine.
Depart for Kumasi the capital town of the Ashanti Kingdom, stop en route at Assin Manso Slave river and go on some of the Slave Tracks.
Arrive at Kumasi for dinner and overnight
Day 6 – Kumasi City Tour and the Craft Villages
Tour Kumasi and visit Manhyia Palace Museum, Okomfo Anokye sword site and the Central Market. Lunch at Jofel.
After lunch continue to the craft villages of Ahwia, Ntonso and Bonwire for wood carvings and “ Kente “ weaving. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight – Hotel.
Day 7 – Kumasi – Accra
After breakfast depart Kumasi for Accra passing by many scenic villages and towns. Arrive at Accra.
Optional – Sunday Only Programs – Cruising
Depart Accra to Akosombo where we have largest man-made lake in the world and go on a cruising to the famous Dodi Islands on the Dodi Princess ferry. Enjoy the live entertainment on board. Sing to the golden sounds of live music band as they play lovely Ghanaian rhythm for your dancing feet and relaxation. The Volta Lake scenery slips lazily by whilst you enjoy music and lunch on board.
